This week I met with several pastors in our association through internet conferencing, which is how our meetings are taking place during the pandemic.  I always enjoy these get-togethers, but this time I was struck with an intriguing thought.  I realized with renewed impact that these are shepherds who are committed to your spiritual good.  What a blessing!  It reminded me of God’s promise, “I will give you shepherds after My own heart, who will feed you on knowledge and understanding” (Jeremiah 3:15).  The Lord, your Shepherd, has placed one of His choice under-shepherds into your life to show you His love, to teach you His truth, to minister to you in His grace.  You might feel a little removed from that with our social distancing, but let me assure you—I was vividly reminded of that again this week as I heard our pastors talk and as I listened to them pray.  They truly love the Lord and love you.  So as we await the time when we can gather again, this might be a good time to pray for your pastor and thank the Lord for His goodness to you in giving you a man after His own heart to be your spiritual shepherd.  (And bonus points for writing a card to personally express your gratitude!)

Looking forward,

Pastor Ron Prosise
Director of Ministry, SRBN
