Welcome to the website of the Sacramento Association of Southern Baptist Churches. We are a group of fraternally aligned congregations in the upper end of California’s “Big Valley” that runs over 300 miles in the central part of the state. SASBC is the regional expression of the Southern Baptist Denomination and has a 50 year history of starting new work, providing training and support, and acting as the hub of a network of relationships between pastors and churches.
 Diasaster Relief Response to Haitian Earthquake
Southern Baptist are responding to the devastating 7.0 earthquake that hit Haiti on January 12. Baptist Global Response is working to have water purification units operational by January 16. Disaster Relief assessment teams are planning to be in Haiti during the week of January 18. With the infrastructure destroyed, travel is difficult from the airport to the capital where the work needs to be done. Florida Baptist Disaster Relief is taking the lead for this disaster, so California Southern Baptist Disaster Relief teams are not expected to be deployed immediately. California is at the top of the list for international response beginning in February. During a disaster like this there are many organizations and charities that are making appeals for financial aide. Many of these organizations are legitimate and a few are not. Most of those asking for financial support take a portion of the proceeds for administrative costs. Every cent of the donations sent to CSBC and SBC Disaster Relief will go to ministering to the people of Haiti. As your Director of Missions I encourage you to lead your church to give to our California Southern Bapitst Disaster Relief. Disaster Relief Teams will be called up soon. If you have people who are interested in receiving certification training for Disaster Relief, there is an assocaitoinal Disaster Relief Training event scheduled for May 13-15 at Fellowship Church of Granite Bay.
